Biblical Preaching - Meaningful Worship - Equipping Disciples

River Community Church exists to glorify God, make disciples, grow in fellowship and community, and proclaim the truth of God’s Word as gospel-centered believers.

We invite you to join us Sundays at 10:30am for corporate worship. Additionally, we offer many different Sunday school offerings before the service that begin at 9:15am.

LATEST SUNDAY SERMON

  • Welcome to River Community Church!

River Community Church is a church committed to making disciples, growing in love and fellowship, and proclaiming God’s Word to Ascension Parish and beyond, all for God’s glory. We do that through biblical preaching, meaningful worship, and equipping disciples to serve with their spiritual gifts.

It has been my delight to serve as River’s pastor since the Fall of 2021. Since that time, we have seen God do amazing work in the life of our congregation, growing this church in love and fellowship and maturity. It is my desire to see our church continue this growth and become a true spiritual family shaped by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We delight in our worship together, in making disciples together, in showing mercy together, in being together, and building one another up in love.

In 2024, we left the Evangelical Presbyterian Church to join the Presbyterian Church in America. The PCA is a Confessional, Reformed and Presbyterian denomination whose motto is: “Faithful to the Scriptures, True to the Reformed Faith, and Obedient to the Great Commission.” If you’re unfamiliar with what any of those terms or distinctives mean, that’s okay—just know that we are a biblically-conservative, Bible-teaching church that holds firm to what God’s Word says against the spiritual chaos of the world around us. We’ll teach you the rest.

Oh, and our worship includes a mix of old hymns and modern worship songs using a blended variety of musical instruments. Whatever your church background, you’ll find music you are familiar with here.

If you think you might like to be a part of a church like ours, then we invite you to join us on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. for worship. Sunday school starts at 9:15. You can find out about other study and service opportunities here on our website or in our church newsletter.

    May God bless you,

    J.M. Owens III
