Children are precious to Jesus and also to us here at River Community Church. We provide a warm and welcoming environment where children are loved and taught about Jesus using the “Show Me Jesus” curriculum. We emphasize the themes of grace and the centrality of Jesus in the Bible. Our desire for the littlest ones among us is to provide a loving and safe environment where they will begin to experience the love of Christ.
We have a vision for our children (and our children’s children) to live with the peace of Christ in their hearts so that whatever they do, whether in word or deed, they may do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to the Father, bearing fruit in every good work and leading many people to Christ Jesus. (Colossians 3:17)

Significant ministry to children begins in our youngest nurseries. Here a foundation of prayer begins for your child, as the godly men and women working in the nurseries are encouraged to “pray without ceasing” for the Lord’s work in the hearts of these little ones while they are in our care.
Babies are prayed over, held, fed, diapered, played with, and loved upon by member volunteers.
As your child’s language skills develop and they move up into Toddlers, our prayers for them continue as we also begin introducing biblical truths to them through frequent use and illustration. This pattern of prayer and instruction continues to develop by building a biblical vocabulary and helping your child see a great God through Bible stories they can understand!
1-2 year olds have story time, play time outside, inside toys, a simple snack, and careful eyes and hands to watch and help them. For our two-year-olds, a Bible story is presented by member volunteers to help children understand who God is and what he is like. They receive a take-home picture card about the story they heard that day.
