In a Presbyterian church, most of the church's business is the responsibility of the Session (elders). The elders are also principally responsible for shepherding the congregation, or as it is described in Acts 6:4, "prayer and the ministry of the Word."  So in our church, elders are focused on spiritual issues, and much of the responsibility for business affairs (such as personnel, finances, facilities, legal, etc.) has been delegated to the trustees, deacons and the staff.

Elders are assigned to care for our congregation by demographic groups. That means that you have one or more elders ready to serve you as your spiritual guide, advocate, and care-giver. Do you know your elder?
